When the word hypnosis springs to mind, different mental images of some people
in trance and being ask to do something against their will. Partly, its
because of what we often seen in horror movies. Hence, we tend to put hypnotism
in a negative light. The truth is there is more to hypnosis than meets the eye.
Hypnosis instruction is actually an
excellent tool that can aid in our goal setting, and how to carry them out so
that it will become a reality. However, the goal youve set has to be
S.M.A.R.T, meaning, specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time
bound.

In general, there are several
induction techniques and hypnosis instructions. Some of them include, arm
levitation method, arm-drop method, association techniques, just to name a few.
On one hand, self hypnosis is perhaps the most powerful technique among the hypnosis inductions mentioned above.
Unfortunately, self hypnotism is not
for everyone, its effectiveness entirely depends on you. Meaning, if you
believe that the technique will work, it will be effective. In order to do
that, you need to follow self hypnosis instruction, if you dont, the
hypnosis would be unsuccessful.
There are several steps in hypnosis
instruction that you must go through before you are able to tap the unconscious
portion of your mind. As we all know, our brain is one, if not the most
powerful organ in our body, and how our mind works can make a difference in our
lives.
Since our mind is omnipotent, being
able to access the inner core of it, would mean understanding ourselves better,
therefore, discovering our strengths and weaknesses. We would know which
choices to make and what not to do.
Here are the basic steps in self
hypnosis instruction, they are easy to learn and follow. Firstly, determine
your goals and rank them according to what is more important to you. For
instance, losing weight is your priority. Then, make an appropriate specific
instruction on how to achieve your goals, next relay it to your subconscious
mind.

Afterwards, drift into relaxation
stage. Shortly, begin the hypnotic induction phase by the aid of hypnotic music
or by saying out loud the hypnotic words. At the same time, put into action the
hypnotic suggestions youve made. It would also best if you track your
progress towards your goal attainment.
Following the hypnotic instruction
does not work in one session alone, it takes time before you master it. Set
aside 10-30 minutes each day to perform self hypnosis.
Overall, self hypnosis has four main
stages; focusing, concentration on a goal or point, relaxation and being in a
trance. |
