Easy 5 Steps to Review When Starting a Web
Site |
- Have you decided what Domain Name you
would like to use?
- What service or information do you want
it to present?
- What do you want your Web Site to do for
you?
- How would you like to present it?
- What do you want the content to
be?
- Think about what your
customers would want to see on your Web Site.
- Gather together the
graphics and text and the information you want your pages to contain.
- Consider your Site
design with the possibility of future expansion.
- Get feedback and ideas
from others who are involved in your immediate business. However, don't get
bogged down with everyone's on going contributions because everyone has an
opinion.
- Decide who will be the
ultimate decision maker about the Web Site and be sure to get their approval on
each step of its construction. It's best, right from the start, to appoint one
decision maker who will have the final say.
- Decide what you want to
use on your cover page and/or directory and how you want it to look. Because
this is often the most complicated page, you should also determine in advance a
budget for it. First impressions are important.
- Decide the contents and
the layout of your directory and/or menus.
- Provide concise,
complete and "to the point" information. Remember, people are reading
fast.
- Provide information that
has value.
- Use your site to enhance
communication with your company and the public.
- Decide on an approximate
budget.
